    Easy Fruit Custard is a delicious, creamy and flavourful dessert made with custard powder and fresh fruits.

    Fruit Custard is the one which my whole family enjoys any time of the day. I make this fruit custard at least once a month because my both kids love it a lot.

    I still remember my son used to call this custard as cusbird when he is 2 years old. Even now sometimes for fun, he says the same. He is now going to be 10 next month, I can’t believe that he 10 and they are growing very fast.

    Coming to the recipe, for this month in Food bloggers Recipe swap I have to cook from Jayashree Trao blog “Evergreendishes.” When I was searching for the recipe on her blog my eyes went on to this delicious fruit custard. Then I thought how I missed posting this recipe in my blog as make this fruit custard regularly. Then immediately I made it. Do check her site where you can find a collection of delicious recipes.

    What are the ingredients required to make this Fruit Custard?

    To make this delicious custard you need whole milk, custard powder, sugar, fresh fruits of your choice.

    How to make this Easy Fruit Custard

    Wash and chop fruits and keep them in the fridge.

    Next mix custard powder with cold milk without any lumps. Keep aside.

    Bring the milk to boil and slowly add the custard mixture and stir to avoid forming lumps.

    Cook for another 2-5 minutes until it you get the desired thick consistency.

    Switch off the stove and transfer into a bowl.

    Allow it to cool and then store in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours

    Before serving whisk the custard.

    In a serving bowl add the fruits, then goes custard on top of it and mix well and enjoy.

    Easy Fruit Custard

    Can you make this Fruit Custard without custard powder?

    Yes, you can make this fruit custard without custard powder, custard powder is nothing but cornflour/corn starch flavoured with vanilla.

    If you don’t have store brought custard power still you can make this delicious custard with cornflour and vanilla essence. Replace the custard powder with cornflour and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.

    Points to remember

    The process of making this fruit custard is very easy only two things you need to remember while making this.

    1. Always mix the custard powder with cold milk without any lumps.

    2.While adding the custard mixture to the boiling milk always reduce the flame and stir continuously without forming any lumps.

    Ingredients:

    Whole milk – 500ml + ¼ cup

    Custard Powder – 2tbsp

    Sugar – ¼ cup

    Chopped Fruits (apple, banana, mango, grapes)

    Preparation:

    Wash the fruits and keep in the fridge.

    Making the custard

    In a small mixing bowl, add custard powder along with cold milk and mix without any lumps and keep aside.

    Take a saucepan, add the milk and bring to boil on low- medium heat.

    Once it starts boiling add the custard mixture and stir continuously to make lump-free.

    Add the sugar and stir.

    Boil the milk on low flame for 5-6 minutes or until it thickens.

    Transfer the custard into a bowl.

    Allow it to cool completely.

    Cover and keep the custard in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

    In meanwhile chop the fruits into small pieces and keep in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

    Assembly the fruit custard

    Whisk the custard and make it smooth.

    In a serving bowl/glass add the chopped fruits and followed by custard. Mix well.

    Garnish with few more chopped fruits and enjoy delicious fruit custard with your loved ones.

        Hi Bonnie Nicholls, custard powder is the one which thickens when mixed with milk .Here I used bird's brand.
