Besan Pakora is an easy snack recipe which is prepared with gram flour, onions and spices. It is an all-time favourite snack for everyone in India from kids to adults. Especially these are made during rainy days to serve with a hot cup of coffee /tea.
Today I prepared these Besan Pakora for my kids as an evening snack. Here instead of red chilli powder, you can use finely chopped green chillies.
Step by step pictures of making Besan Pakora Recipe
Ingredients:
- Besan/gram flour – 1cup
- Finely chopped onion -1
- Turmeric powder -¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder -1tsp
- Baking soda, a pinch
- Ajwain /Carom seeds -1tsp
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation:
First, sift the gram flour in a mixing bowl.
Now to the gram flour bowl, add finely chopped onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajwain, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and mix well.
Slowly add water to the mixture and make a medium thick batter.
Finally, add a pinch a baking soda and mix well.
Heat a frying pan with enough oil for deep frying.
When the oil is hot reduce the flame to medium.
With the help of a spoon drop the batter into the hot oil.
Don’t overcrowd the pan, just add few at a time.
Fry the pakora on medium flame till they turn into golden colour on both sides.
Remove the fried pakoras on to kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
Serve this tasty and delicious Besan Pakora with your favourite chutney or sauce.
