Poha Mixture Recipe - Is a delicious, crispy Indian savoury snack prepared with Poha also know as flattened rice, nuts and spices.
The best part is that you can enjoy this snack during any time of the day. This mixture is easy to prepare as it takes less than half an hour. Usually, we prepare this snack in bulk during festive seasons to share with friends.
This Poha mixture is very addictive that you cannot stop with one bowl.
POHA MIXTURE RECIPE WITH STEP WISE INSTRUCTIONS
Ingredients:
- Poha/Attukulu/Flattened rice – 2cups (Thick)
- Groundnuts/peanuts – ½cup
- Fried gram dal – ¼cup
- Cashew nuts – ¼cup
- Fennel seeds – 2 tsp
- Red chilli powder– 1tsp
- Coriander powder - 1tsp
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Roasted cumin powder - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves a handful
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- Heat a deep bottom Kadai with enough oil for deep frying, once the oil is hot fry groundnuts, fried gram dal, curry leaves, cashew nuts, dry coconut pieces and keep aside in a plate.
- Next deep fry the Poha using a strainer on medium heat until they puff and become crispy. Then transfer them into a plate.
- Now again fry fennel seeds using a tea strainer and transfer to a plate.
- Take a large bowl and add all the fried ingredients when they are warm and mix well along with salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and roasted cumin powder.
- Allow them to cool completely and store in an airtight container and enjoy the crunchy, nutty, tasty Poha mixture.
NOTES:
- Use only thick variety poha for making.
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
