Homemade Tandoori chicken is prepared by marinating chicken with curd and spices, then baked in the oven. It is a big hit at my home, especially my kids loved very much and asking it again and again. Here goes the recipe.
Ingredients:
- Drumsticks- 4
- Curd-4tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
- Red chilli powder-2tsp
- Coriander powder-1tsp
- Cumin powder-½tsp
- Garam masala-1tsp
- Lemon juice-1tsp
- Turmeric-½tsp
- Food colour a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil -2tbsp
Preparation:
Clean the drumsticks and make slits with a knife, so the masala goes well inside it.
In a small cup, mix 1tsp chilli powder, salt and lemon juice. Apply the paste nicely to the drumsticks in such a way that masala goes into the slits and leave it for few seconds.
After that take another bowl, add remaining chilli powder, coriander, cumin and garam masala powder along with curd and food colour. Mix well.
Apply the masala nicely to the drumsticks. Add oil at this stage and mix again.
Marinate it for overnight in the fridge or At least 4hours. Here I marinated overnight.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Take a baking tray, cover it with a silver foil and brush it with oil . Then place the drumsticks on the tray and bake it for at least 30-40 minutes or until it is cooked. (Here I baked exactly 40 mins)
Make sure how your oven works and adjust the time. Once it is cooked allow it to cool for few seconds and then enjoy tasty and delicious homemade tandoori chicken.
