Roasted Tandoori Chickpeas is an easy and simple snack with less oil. It is a perfect snack for an evening with a cup of tea/ coffee and also for travelling. The process of making these pan-fried chickpeas is so easy with the basic ingredients that are readily available in the kitchen pantry. For this recipe just combine yoghurt with spices and then add cooked peas. Marinate for 10 -15 minutes and cook in a frying pan.

    Roasted Tandoori Chickpeas

You can prepare these fried chickpeas even with store brought tin, but I prefer to use freshly cooked peas in the home. I usually cook a lot at once and allow them to cool before freezing them in small individual packs. This way it becomes very handy, in case if you forgot to soak Chana.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES OF MAKING ROASTED TANDOORI CHICKPEAS RECIPE

    Ingredients:

    • Boiled chickpeas – 1cup
    • Thick curd/Yogurt – 2tbsp
    • Kashmiri chilli powder – 1tsp
    • Coriander powder -1tsp
    • Cumin Powder – ½ tsp
    • Garam masala – ½ tsp
    • Crushed dried kasoori methi – 1tsp
    • Turmeric powder – ½tsp
    • Chaat masala – ½tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil – 3tsp
    • Coriander leaves for garnishing

    Preparation:

In a bowl, add thick curd along with all the spices mentioned above except chaat masala and mix well.

Add the cooked chickpeas to the yoghurt mixture and combine well in such a way that all the chickpeas are nicely coated with the masala.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.

Once 15 minutes is done. Take out the chickpeas bowl out of the fridge and keep aside.

Heat a frying pan with 3tsp of oil, add the marinated chickpeas along with the masala.

Cook on medium flame stirring continuously until the masala is cooked well. It took 12 minutes for me here.

Finally, switch off the flame and sprinkle chaat masala.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and enjoy tasty, delicious Roasted Tandoori Chickpeas.

    Note:

Adjust the spices according to your taste.

Don’t forget to marinate the chickpeas for at least good 10 minutes.
