Rava Kesari is an Indian sweet that we prepare for most of the special occasions in our home. To prepare this delicious sweet we only need a few ingredients which are always available in our pantry. Here goes the recipe.
Ingredients:
- Rava/semolina – 1 cup
- Sugar -1cup
- Ghee -4tbsp
- Water- 2 cups
- Cashew nuts and raisins -3tbsp
- Cardamom pods -2nos
- Saffron strands a few
- Orange food colour - a pinch
Preparation:
1. Heat a pan with 1 tablespoon of ghee, add the nuts and fry them. Remove and keep aside in a plate.
2. In the same pan add Rava/semolina and roast on medium flame till you get a nice aroma from the rava. Try not to burn the rava. Remove it to a plate.
3. In a pan, add 2 cups water along with sugar, crushed cardamom pods, saffron and orange food colour. Bring the water to boiling and slowly add the roasted rava and stir well so that there are no lumps.
4.cover the pan and cook on low flame until water evaporates.
5. Finally, add the roasted nuts and remaining ghee and mix well.
6. Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy delicious Rava Kesari.
