    Egg Dum Biryani Recipe

    Let's learn how to make Egg Dum Biryani with step by step instructions.This delicious one-pot biryani is made with fragrant basmati rice, aromatic spices, herbs, and boiled eggs.It is one of the most simple, tasty and flavorful biryani you can make at home with just a few basic ingredients.

    Ingredients used to make egg biryani

    • Cooked basmati rice -2cups
    • Eggs, boiled and halved-4
    • Onions, finely chopped- 2nos
    • Tomatoes, finely chopped-2nos
    • Ginger-garlic paste-1tbsp
    • Red chilli powder-1tsp
    • Coriander powder-1tsp
    • Green chillies, slit- 1 to 2
    • Turmeric powder-¼tsp
    • Bay leaf-1
    • Cinnamon sticks- 2
    • Black cardamoms-2
    • cloves-4
    • Green cardamoms-3
    • Oil-2tbsp
    • Salt to taste
    • A few saffron strands, soaked in warm milk
    • Coriander leaves
    • Mint leaves

    How to make Egg dum biryani

    Heat 2tbsp oil in a non-stick pan.Add bay leaf,cinnamon sticks,black cardamoms,cloves and finely chopped onions.Mix well and saute till onions are lightly browned.

    Add 1tbsp of ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder and slit green chilli.Mix well and saute for 2-3 minutes.

    Then add chopped tomatoes,salt and mix well. Now cover and cook on medium heat util the oil separates.

    In the mean while soak saffron in the warm milk and keep aside.

    Add half of the chopped coriander leaves ,mint leaves and eggs. Mix lightly

    Add cooked rice,soaked saffron,green cardamom powder,remaining chopped coriander and mint leaves.Cover with an aluminium foil and place the lid on it.

    Heat a nonstick tawa and place the pan on it. Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until steam begins to escape the biryani pot. Serve warm with raitha.

    Ingredients

    • Place a non-stick tawa on heat and put the pan on it.Cook for 20-25 minutes or  till the steams starts coming out from the biryani pot.Serve hot with raitha.
