Chocolate Pudding is a treat for all chocoholics. It is a simple dessert baked until a light sponge surrounded with a rich and creamy chocolate centre. My kids enjoyed it very well. It can be served hot or cold with a scoop of ice-cream on it or you can have it like that.
This is my first time joining Bake a thon 2018, which is hosted by Srivalli. For the whole month of December, you can see baking recipes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Chocolate Pudding Recipe
Ingredients:
- Plain flour/Maida/All-purpose flour – 50 grams
- Unsalted butter -50 grams
- Caster Sugar -120 grams
- Dark chocolate -250 grams
- Large Eggs – 4
- Salt-½tsp
- Vanilla extract – 11/2 tsp
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400 °F /Gas 6)
Then butter the sides of the muffin cases/moulds and set aside. Here I used muffin cases.
Sift the flour along with salt and keep aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate and melt it using double boiler method until the chocolate is melted and smooth, or you can melt in the microwave. You can melt the chocolate in the microwave in a burst of 30 seconds until it is smooth. Set aside.
Mixing the batter:
Using a stand mixer, fitted with a paddle attachment beat the unsalted butter and sugar until they are combined well and smooth. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after adding each egg.
Add vanilla extract followed by sifted flour, salt and beat on low speed until everything is combined.
Finally, add the melted chocolate and combine everything well.
Baking the pudding:
Divide the mixture equally into the muffin cases and bake for 12-15 mins or until the sides are set but when you touch in the centre with your fingers it should be soft. I baked exactly for 15 mins.
Take the pudding from the oven when it is done. Then take an individual serving plate and carefully invert the muffin cases. Peel the cases slowly and serve the delicious hot Chocolate pudding.
