Cardamom Bun

Today i prepared this Cardamom bun,which i have seen in Good food channel.It came out very well and tasted delicious.Its very to prepare.I have done few changes according to my taste and prepared it.Here goes the recipe..


Cream fraiche-200ml tub
Caster sugar-175grams
Plain flour-225grams, sifted
Bicarbonate of soda-1/2tsp
Pinch of salt
Grounded cardamom seeds-1tsp
Chopped nuts-2tbsp


Preheat the oven to 180 C . Grease the sides of a 8inch tin and dust with flour; line the base of the tin with a disc of greaseproof paper.

Whisk the egg in a large bowl. Add cream fraich and the sugar and whisk to combine. Add the sifted flour and bicarbonate of soda , then the salt and the ground cardamom. Fold the mixture to combine.

Transfer into the tin,and sprinkle the chopped nuts on the top and place in the oven. Cook for about 35 minutes until the top of the cake just feels firm to the touch and a skewer inserted into the the centre comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes before removing from the tin and cooling on a wire rack.

cut into pieces and enjoy with a cup of coffee.
