Halwa must have done in every kitchen sometime or the other.Athamma used to make this so frequently.she makes this bread halwa when she finds a bread two days old.Its easy to prepare just you have cut bread pieces fry them in oil and then simmer in milk and sugar syrup and it goes great.

    Ingredients:

    Bread Slices - 6slices
    Sugar - 4tbsp
    Ghee - 1 tsp
    Milk - 1cup
    Cardamom powder a pinch
    Nuts handful for garnishing

    Preparation:

Cut bread slices into four pieces and keep aside.

Mean while, take a pan and melt sugar to get syrup.

Heat a pan with oil and fry the bread pieces.Remove and keep aside.

Add milk to the sugar syrup and mix well. Then add the fried bread pieces and mix well i.e bread pieces are nicely coated with milk and sugar syrup.Add cardamom powder and mix well.

Finally garnish with nuts and enjoy!

Nice idea...we have a similar Sindhi sweet dish too, but we make it in the slice form instead of crumbling.
