    Snake Gourd Fritters Recipe | Potlakaya Pakoda

    Snake Gourd Fritters Recipe is a very easy dish you can prepare within half an hour. With Snake gourd vegetable you can make so many dishes like curry, fry and etc. Here in the recipe, I used Gram flour, cornflour to make these fritters. The fritters are crispy from outside and soft from inside. You can have this has an evening snack along with a cup of tea/coffee or you can have along with curd rice and dal.

    Ingredients:

    • Snake gourd -300grams
    • Gram flour/Besan/Chickpea flour-3tbsp
    • Rice flour-1tbsp
    • Corn flour-2tbsp
    • Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
    • Curry leaves a strand
    • Cumin seeds-1tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Red chilli powder-11/2 tsp
    • Black pepper powder-¼ tsp
    • Garam masala powder-¼ tsp
    • Turmeric powder-½ tsp
    • Food colouring (optional)
    • Oil for deep frying

    Preparation:

    1. Clean and cut the snake gourd into thin strips
    2. In a bowl add the snake ground strips along with red chilli powder, Ginger garlic paste, garam masala, pepper powder, cumin seeds and salt. Mix well and keep aside for 5mintues
    3. Once 5 minutes is done, add gram flour, rice flour, corn flour along with food colour and mix well. Add a small amount of water and make a thin batter
    4. In the meantime, heat a pan with oil for deep frying
    5. Then carefully fry the snake gourd strips in small batches on low-medium flame until they golden brown colour
    6. Transfer them into a kitchen towel to absorb any excess oil.
    7. Enjoy crispy and delicious Snake Gourd Fritters with a cup of tea/coffee
