Ghee Rice is an Indian flavour full rice which is prepared with ghee and spices. It is generally made with basmati rice to enhance the flavour. You can enjoy this rice with any veg or non-veg curry. This Ghee rice is the easiest and simplest dish which you can prepare within 20-25 minutes. We make this rice for special occasions and parties.

STEP BY STEP PICTURES OF MAKING GHEE RICE RECIPE
Ingredients:
- Basmati rice- 1 cup
- Finely chopped ginger -1tsp
- Cashew nuts – ¼ cup
- Sliced onions- 2
- Slit green chillies- 4
- Bay leaves- 2
- Cloves- 4
- Cinnamon stick- ½ inch
- Cardamom pods- 2
- Shah Jeera – 1tsp
- Ghee- 2tbsp
- Oil- 1tsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
Wash and soak the basmati rice for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile slice the onions, green chillies and keep aside.
Heat a non-stick pan, add ghee, oil once they heat, add shah jeera along with cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaves and cardamom pods.
Add cashew nuts and fry for few minutes, keep some for garnishing.
Next add the sliced onions, ginger pieces, green chillies and sauté them till onions change its colour.
Drain the water from the rice and add to the saucepan and mix gently without
breaking the rice and fry for a minute.
Add 1 ½ cup hot water and salt according to taste and mix well.
Cover with lid and cook on low flame for 15 minutes or till the rice is cooked.
Then gently fluff up the rice with fork and transfer into a serving plate and enjoy with your favourite gravy.

My all.time favorite ghee rice. Can never get tired of this yummy rice. This is really a party pleaser.
I love ghee rice anytime. It is simple to make and is a wonderful base to go with spicy curries.

This is a classic pulao with a spicy gravy to the side. My little one loves it.
In North India we call this Kaju Kishmish Pulao a swe add raisins also in it. It is such a simple and flavourful treat that goes well with any kind curry or dal.
