Dal Pulao

Dal Pulao is different from regular pulao’s.This pulao is healthy and nutritious.It is easy to prepare,i have tried and tasted this pulao from Priya’s blog.Thank you so much priya for sharing such a healthy n easy pulao.


Basmati Rice-2cups
Channa dal-1cup
Chopped tomatoes-2nos
Whole spices (bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick,cardamoms)
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp
Slit Green chillies-2nos
chili powder-1/2tsp
Garam masala-1/2tsp
Chopped coriander leaves
Turmeric Powder-1/2tsp
Salt to taste


Wash and soak Dal,rice for 10mints.

Pressure cook both Dal and ice with 5cups of water for 2whistles.
Heat a pan with oil,add spices and fry till they change colour.Add chopped onions along with salt and fry till it turns inti golden brown.Then add ginger garlic paste along with tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes become soft.Now add all the powders and mix well and cook for few mints or until oil separates.

Add the cooked Dal and rice to the mixture and mix well.so that all ingredients are nicely mixed up.Now add ghee and mix.Finally add chopped coriander and transfer into a serving bowl and enjoy!
