Bendakaya kura/Okra curry goes great with chapatis and rice. This curry is made with tamarind juice, tomato, onions. It my favourite one, from my school days on wards i like any dish made with bendakaya. And my hubby also likes it very much.

    Ingredients:

    Bendakaya/okra-250gms
    Chopped onions-2medium nos
    Chopped Tomatoes-2medium
    Chili pwd-1tsp

    Tamarind-lemon size
    Curry leaves
    Coriander leaves
    Mustard+urd dal-1tsp
    Turmeric pwd-½tsp
    Salt to taste
    Oil-2tbsp

    Preparation:

First wash and dry the bendakaya's on a kicthen towel.Cut them into 1inch length and keep aside.

Mean while soak tamarind in warm water to get the juice.

Heat a pan and fry the chopped bendakaya till they turn into dark green colour.

Wipe the pan with kitchen towel and again heat the pan with oil,add mustard+urd dal, curry leaves and crushed garlic pods and fry them .

Add chopped onions and tomatoes along with turmeric pwd and fry them till onions changes its colour.Add the bendakaya along with chili and coriander pwd and give a nice stir,so that all the ingredients are mixed well with okra.
