Besan Pakora Recipe | Gram flour Pakora | Easy Snack Recipe

Besan Pakora is an easy snack recipe which is prepared with gram flour, onions and spices. It is an all-time favourite snack for everyone in India from kids to adults. Especially these are made during rainy days to serve with a hot cup of coffee /tea.

Ingredients

  • Besan/gram flour – 1cup
  • Finely chopped onion -1
  • Turmeric powder -¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder -1tsp
  • Baking soda a pinch
  • Ajwain /Carom seeds -1tsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • First, sift the gram flour in a mixing bowl.
  • Now to the gram flour bowl, add finely chopped onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajwain, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and mix well.
  • Slowly add water to the mixture and make a medium thick batter.
  • Finally, add a pinch a baking soda and mix well.
  • Heat a frying pan with enough oil for deep frying.
  • When the oil is hot reduce the flame to medium.
  • With the help of a spoon drop the batter into the hot oil.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan, just add few at a time.
  • Fry the pakora on medium flame till they turn into golden colour on both sides.
  • Remove the fried pakoras on to kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve this tasty and delicious Besan Pakora with your favourite chutney or sauce.
