My partner for this month for Rajasthani cuisine Challenge is Sujata Roy who blogs at Batter up with Sujata. Do check her beautiful blog for delicious and mouthwatering recipes. She gave chilli powder and cumin seeds as my secret ingredients and I gave her curd/ Yoghurt and green cardamom as her secret ingredients and she came up with a lip-smacking Laal Maans recipe.

  1. Kadhi Chawal(rice) is one of our favorite weekend brunches.. this looks so rich and creamy..i liked the used of bay leaves and urad dal in tempering which we do not add.

  2. Comfort food at its best! Give me a bowl of kadhi and chawal and I’m the happiest person 🙂 Though I would love to have some pakodas in it too but the way you’ve made it is my go-to when I’m short on time – simple & delicious

  3. Such a wonderful creamy kadhi preparation Pavani. Its really making me crave for some kadhi as I’ve not had it since I left my Bangalore home in April. Rajasthani kadhi is much thicker than the Gujarati version.

  4. Kadhi – total comfort food for me. This kadhi has bowled me over with the images. Tadka is so important in flavouring a kadhi, and yours look like little jewels on the surface of the kadhi! So tempting!

  5. Kadhi chawal is my favourite combo. Your looks lipsmackingly delicious. Always made kadhi with pakoda or potatoes. Loved this kadhi with tempering only. I will also make it following your recipe. You have a wonderful blog.
