Pepper Rice

Pepper Rice is Traditionally eaten with lamb curry in the south of India. And rice dishes are eaten with almost every meal.I saw this Pepper Rice is Priya’s blog and i tried it by adjusting the ingredients accordingly to my taste.It came really well and it takes less time also to prepare it.

Ingredients: Cooked Rice-1cup
Black pepper-11/2tsp

Cumin seeds-1tsp

Channa dal-1tsp

Mustard+urd-1tsp
Red chillies-2nos.
Curry leaves few
Grated coconut-2tbsp
Oil-2tbsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida a pinch

Preparation:

Heat a pan and dry roast the pepper and cumin seeds until you get a nice aroma.Allow to cool and grind into a smooth powder.

Take the cooked rice in mixing bowl,add the grounded pwd to the rice along with salt and mix well and keep aside.

Heat a pan with oil,add mustard+urd+channadal+curry leaves+red chillies and fry till chillies turn into brown colour.At that stage add grated coconut and fry for few mints till coconut changes its colour.

Then add the pepper mixed rice to it and mix well and allow to cook for few mints.switch off the hob and remove the rice into a serving bowl and enjoy!as i have prepared for my dinner we had it with onion raita and tasted very well.
